Porch Play

Where Pink Umbrella Comes to You!

Funded by the WAB

A personalized, interactive journey of the imagination… happening right on your porch!

About Porch Play

We know that for some, home is the safest and most comfortable place to be. That’s why Pink Umbrella Theater Company, in partnership with a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board and the National Endowment for the Arts, is proud to present Porch Play!

A Pink Umbrella teaching artist will meet you at your home or nearby community space to offer you and your participant a one-time, sensory-immersive, and individualized experience of bringing a story to life. All Porch Play teaching artists are trained in special education, inclusion, theater, and social-emotional learning.

Our clients can expect a lesson uniquely designed to foster confidence, creativity, and connection between participant and caregiver. Choose from 10 vetted and inspirational books for your 45-minute program. Pink Umbrella will provide all of the materials and activities for a magical, one-of-a-kind class. Following the program, each participant will receive a Pink bag with themed items and ideas for extension activities, so the fun and connection can continue after the class.

The health and safety of our participants is our first priority. Each household’s social distancing preferences and COVID mitigation practices will be honored.

For one family, the exchange for one 45-minute Porch Play program is $40. Scholarships are available by contacting katie@pinkumbrellatheater.org. The storybook used in your program can be purchased for an additional $15.

For community collectives interested in booking a Porch Play for more than one family, please email pinkumbrellatheater@gmail.com to get a custom quote.
